Faculty of Electrical Engineering

LUT Lappeenranta

  • Every year, only four students can attend the program

  • Candidates with a BSc/BEng diploma in electrical engineering or a related field

  • An overall grade of at least "good" (PL: 4.0) from the Bachelor's diploma is required for Double Degree candidates

  • Language requirements (English proficiency):

    • For EU and non-EU candidates:
      • Cambridge English Qualification: C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency (grade A, B, or C). For Bachelor level students, Cambridge B2 First with a minimum score of 180 is also accepted
      • IELTS: 6.5
      • TOEFL: 90 iBT (iBT Home Edition is also accepted)
      • PTE Academic: 62
    • For WUST students and alums, a B2-level English exam was passed with a minimum score of 4.0

  • Each application is assessed individually

The program lasts four semesters.

  • Semester Location:

    • The first year of Master's studies (two semesters) is spent at Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST)
    • The second year (two semesters, including the Master's Thesis semester) is spent at LUT University, Lappeenranta

  • Organization of Studies:

    • The program comprises three theoretical semesters and a final Master's Thesis semester
    • A 4-week industrial placement is also part of the studies
    • Upon successful completion of degree requirements at both universities, students will receive two Master of Science degrees – one from WUST and one from the LUT University, Lappeenranta

  • Recruitment Deadlines
    The recruitment period for the double degree program typically falls around the following dates each year:

    • May 1st  – Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST)
    • 15th of May – LUT Lappeenranta
      Please note that these are approximate dates and may vary slightly depending on the academic calendar. We strongly recommend checking the official website of the partner University for the most up-to-date information. A direct link is available in the Contact section. Applicants should also check the current dates on the WUST Admission Office website.


  • Application procedure for LUT:

    • Nomination by Home Institution: Before applying to LUT, you must be nominated by your home institution (WROCŁAW TECH)
    • Registration for LUT Mobility-Online: Once your nomination is processed, you will receive an email asking you to register for LUT Mobility-Online. You should start the application process immediately after receiving this email
    • Complete Application and Attach Documents: In LUT Mobility-Online, you will fill out the necessary information and attach the required application documents

  1. EU/EEA students participating in the program are not required to pay tuition fees at the host institution (LUT University). These students shall pay tuition fees (if applicable) to their home university (WROCŁAW TECH).

  2. Non-EU/EEA students from WROCŁAW TECH and LUT shall pay a tuition fee at the host institution.

  3. If a non-EU/EEA student from WROCŁAW TECH is selected for the program and applies for a scholarship, LUT University agrees to provide a scholarship that covers the tuition fee. However, if the student does not complete their Master's degree, half of the scholarship must be returned to LUT.

  4. Students who fail to pass courses included in their study program will be charged for repetition in accordance with WROCŁAW TECH's internal regulations.

  5. Beyond tuition fees, students are also responsible for covering travel costs, living costs (accommodation, books, equipment, etc.), health and travel insurance, and a student union fee (if applicable) during their stay at the host institution.
