Master of Science in Electrical Engineering
RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST), Wrocław, Poland offers the four-semester MSc Programme:
Renewable Energy Systems
devoted to candidates with BSc/BEng diploma (in electrical engineering or related field). All lectures, laboratories, tutorials and seminars are taught in English.

The Programme RES is a joint project run by the University of Otto-von - Guericke in Magdeburg and The Faculty of Electrical Engineering of Wrocław University of Science and Technology (WUST) in Wrocław. It was introduced in the academic year 2010/11. The students can spend full duration of the studies in Wroclaw, Poland or benefit from the Double-Degree option. The DD option is a proposal for a limited number of best applicants. After having spent one year in Wroclaw, the students are sent for the remaining year to the University of Magdeburg. Following the successful completion of the degree requirements at both Universities,  the students will obtain two Master of Science degrees from the WUST and from the University of Magdeburg.
The Programme offered by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering has four-semester duration that is split up into three theory semesters and finally a Master Thesis semester. The 4-week industrial placement is a part of the studies as well. The programme is aimed at preparing the students to an international environment, as they will encounter it during their later engineering career. We also put a lot of efforts in making young graduates of our University apply innovatively the acquired knowledge and qualifications, so that they are high class professionals, able to formulate and solve the problems and to face the challenges of the labour market of this day and age. The programme is focused on new and challenging issues of renewable energy sources, their technology and integration into power networks, including also the courses related to power electronics, power quality and electromagnetic compatibility, numerical methods, protection and control of networks with distributed generation.

Alternatively, starting from the academic year 2013/2014, there is also another option - the possibility of choosing the programme in cooperation with Irkutsk National Research Technical University in Russia.
